Meet The Greens Team

Arguably, the most important people in the golf club are the small, but fantastic team who look after the course - The Greens Team. The course has improved exponentially in recent years,thanks to the incredible job done by our Head Greenkeeper, Mickie Bartle, ably assisted by young Reece McWilliam, our seasonal assistant greenkeeper and throughout the year by the amazing Alan Mitchell who works on an entirely voluntary basis.

What got me started?

I prefer outside work and an interest in golf

Favourite part:

Seeing how much the course & club have progressed in the 6 years I’ve been here

Biggest challenge:

Keeping on top of the cutting
& maintaining the greens

Favourite hole:

I think the par 3s are a standout
feature of the course

Favourite job:

Cutting greens

My biggest bugbears are pitch marks
& broken tees not lifted

Pizza

Loved being outside and cutting grass

Seeing the course at the end of the week when everything’s cut

Keeping on top of the grass
